Santa’s Elves Arriving Saturday! Construction Update # 6

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I am thrilled to be able to share some exciting news with you before we head off for the winter break.

On Saturday, December 14, at 10 am, SPCC, our appointed contractor, will begin Construction Phase 1, ie, the expansion of existing buildings.

What You Need to Know

Construction Phase 1 includes three separate building areas.

  1. Above the Auditorium – where the ES will receive six new classrooms and a common space.

  2. The 4th floor of the MS Building – where the MS will receive three new classrooms and a common space.

  3. The area above the HS Gym – where the HS will receive two new classrooms.

These expansions are expected to be ready for use in August 2020.

What You Need to Do

As work commences, contractors will enter all three buildings. Although all classrooms will be locked over winter break, I ask that you get in the habit of securing and locking away valuables and do so before leaving for the break; we wish to facilitate the contractors’ work while protecting yours.

Facilities Manager, Chris Beanes, will also be briefing Security, Maintenance, Cleaners, and Gardeners on the additional safety procedures that will be in place for the duration of Construction Phase 1.

Thank you all for your patience and support during this construction period. While this work promises new custom-built spaces for the next school year, it may present some challenges. We will try to keep the process as smooth as possible.

If you have any questions or feedback regarding campus safety, access, pre-construction set up, facilities usage, etc. please contact Facilities Manager, Chris Beanes (cbeanes@ssis.edu.vn).

Should you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Wai Mun or me.

With this delightful news, I wish you all a continued great last week. If I do not see you at the Holiday Send-Off on Friday, safe travels, and Happy Holidays!

All best wishes,
Catriona
