(To read this email in Vietnamese, Korean, please see below.)
As mentioned in my video earlier today, please read the following important reentry protocols, as they have been put in effect to ensure your children’s health and safety, once they return to campus. We want to be prepared.
Mandatory Health Questionnaire
We are requiring all families to complete the mandatory health questionnaire that was sent as a link on Friday, February 28th, in the email “SSIS (EC-12) Required Health Screening Questionnaire.” Each child will need a completed health questionnaire by 11 am on Saturday, February 29, or your he/she will not be allowed on campus. We will follow up by phone with all families who have traveled in CDC Level 3 areas, and they will be required to self-quarantine.
Health & Safety Protocols
Please be assured that our health safety protocols and precautionary measures will remain in place. The school has purchased a thermal imaging system to help with temperature screening before students enter campus, and we remain in close contact with International SOS and our medical professionals, ensuring that we follow the recommended guidelines.
Entry to Campus
- Parents are not allowed on the SSIS campus
- EC/KG students will be met by their TAs at the turnstiles (more information will be sent by the ES division to EC/KG parents)
- All other students will walk to their classrooms on their own
Health Safety
- SSIS is enforcing a strict 48-hr symptom-free policy for all faculty, staff, and students that exhibit any signs of illness
- The nursing staff has been expanded
- Additional hand sanitizing stations have been set up around campus
After-School Activities & Athletics
- All after-school activities and athletics are canceled until further notice
School Events
- SSIS has rescheduled large events and canceled others
- All field trips will be canceled or postponed
Cleaning Protocols
The SSIS campus has undergone a deep-cleaning following SOS International’s cleaning protocol during viral outbreak. We use 3M cleaning products, which have been proven to be effective against virucidal activity, including previous Coronavirus strains. In addition to daily cleaning routines, disinfecting frequency will increase to 3 times a day on all surfaces that are frequently touched by hands. All SSIS ventilation ductwork has undergone a cleaning early this month.
Once again I would like to remind you that when you discuss COVID-19 with your children, I encourage you to also discuss the core value “Respect for All.” We are trying to teach our children that each individual is a person of worth and to be mindful of this in our interactions.
Should you have any additional questions or concerns regarding our reentry protocols, I encourage you to contact me as the safety of our community continues to be our top priority.
We are very much looking forward to having your children back on campus, and want to thank you for your continued support during this time.
All best wishes,
Dr. Catriona Moran
Head of School
