Catriona chairing WASC visit at Shanghai American School this week
|Good morning faculty and staff,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Congratulations to Jeff Redman, Dan Long, and the team for a very successful ISTA performing arts festival.
I will be absent from school Monday through Wednesday this week as I am chairing the WASC mid-cycle visit at Shanghai American School.
The WASC accreditation process relies on schools participating in visiting teams to other schools and since I chaired SAS’s full visit in 2021, it was an expectation that I would chair the mid-cycle visit this year.
I am happy to do this work even though this is a busy time for us at SSIS. (This is certainly an example of hyperbolic discounting as one year ago, this seemed like a great time to lead a visit.)
On a different note, you can expect a lot of activity on the building site this week as the construction team prepares to hand over the building to SSIS on Wednesday. We will organize tours of both buildings for faculty and staff from Monday, March 25. Jae Jun will put more information on the schedule later this week.
In my absence, WaiMun Fong will be the administrator in charge. I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday. Have a great week!
Catriona
