Tuesday was the culmination of the partnership that we seek and want between our students, parents and school. It was so great to see students lead their parents in their learning journeys. From EC to grade 5, all students participated in showing their parents their successes. This week we have a busy 2 days before our Spring break begins. When we return our final Super Units begin. What can we do to get them excited in the next two days?

Over the past couple of weeks, I witnessed an example of vertical alignment and technology skill progression in action. Our second-grade students showcased their mastery of the Green Screen by Do Ink app, creating Public Service Announcements that built upon skills learned in first grade. The success of projects like these happens when our teachers dedicate some time towards ‘play’ and inquiring into the technology themselves. The result was a grade level of confident young creators who worked independently with the green screen technology, demonstrating how continued practice and development (in this case, from Grade 1 to Grade 2), leads to enhanced student capabilities and creative expression.

CTP Testing
The window is April 14 – 25, with make up on April 28-29 and May 5-7.
Grade level teams should complete the same test in the same window (i.e. All grade 3 teachers test Reading Comprehension on the same date at the same time.). This helps with EAL and LS coordination and tech support.
