Nuts & Bolts:
The procedure for reporting planned and unplanned absences has changed over the years at SSIS. Please take note of the current procedures:
For anticipated absences, BEFORE 4:00PM the day prior to an absence: submit a Leave of Absence Request through the Employee Portal (https://hr-portal.ssis.edu.
For sudden absences requested AFTER 4:00PM the day prior to an absence: send an SMS text to HR number +84 938 951881. HR personnel will acknowledge receipt of the text by return text “Well Received” when the teacher’s text is read. Please note that texts sent late in the evening (e.g. after 10pm), may not be read or answered until the following morning and texts sent after 6:45am may not be read or answered until 7:30am when the HR personnel arrives at school.
In addition to sending the SMS and upon return to work, please complete the Leave of Absence Request on the Employee Portal (https://hr-portal.ssis.edu.
Professional Development for Teaching Assistants: One of the goals at SSIS is to provide quality professional development for teaching assistants. This year, teaching assistants will meet on average two Wednesdays per month for professional development. This PD will take place from 3:15-4:00PM. Teaching Assistant PD offerings that extend beyond 4:00PM will be voluntary and compensated. TA PD is designed based on needs identified by teaching assistants, admin, instructional coaches and teachers, and are in line with the SSIS Mission and Core Values. I will be in charge of TA PD. A primary goal of all TA PD this year will be that it is relevant and immediately useful.
