Looking forward to the Deep Dive Into Positive Education on September 30 and October 1

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I hope you are well on this bright sunny Saigon morning! I am looking forward to the Deep Dive Into Positive Education coming up on September 30 and October 1. It promises to be meaningful and rewarding to all of us both in terms of our own lives and in guiding the young people in our care. With Andrew Ford and Carla Ford (see bios below) as our Positive Institute trainers,  I think we have two excellent facilitators for the training. They will also speak to our parents and our students on October 2 on the topic of Growth Mindset.

A reminder will come from the WELL leadership group before the training (in fact, the WELL group is working on a regular blog that will be released in the future).

In the meantime, please follow step 1 and step 2 in order to get the most out of this training:

  1. DEEP DIVE INTO POSITIVE EDUCATION ONLINE MODULE

An email from the Institute of Positive Education (Institute@ggs.vic.edu.au) was sent to you on Wednesday, September 12th. If you have not done so already, please take some time to complete the 60-minute online module before September 30.

  1. VIA CHARACTER STRENGTHS SURVEY – NEEDED For Pos Ed Training!

Please take the VIA Character Strengths survey-it takes 5 minutes! Just the FREE version.

Everyone will need a printed copy of their results for September 30th.

A REVIEW OF CONCEPTS

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology is the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals and their communities to thrive. The positive psychology approach is based on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate the strengths within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play in order to flourish.
