Teachers Day – What a Celebration!

Dear Faculty and Staff,

What a celebration today has been! The joy and generosity with which our parents and students demonstrated their appreciation is a clear testament to the inspired teaching and excellent opportunities you are providing our students.

I celebrated Teachers Day in Grade Five, shadowing Duy Nguyen, a student in Shawna’s class. It was an incredible experience witnessing first-hand the skills, dispositions, and competencies our students are developing.

During Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, I spoke with several parents. They hold you all and the work you do, in such high esteem. Many expressed how honored they are to be a part of this community.

Our community is one of our greatest strengths, and we shouldn’t take for granted the positive impact of strengthening ties with our families. As with the puzzle piece you each chose at the beginning of the year, we all represent an equally important part in creating the whole picture.

As this special Vietnamese Teachers Day comes to an end, I want to thank each of you for everything that you bring to SSIS. Your enthusiasm and dedication are inspiring young minds, challenging them to see the world in new ways, and providing them with the tools they will need to live purposeful lives. Thank you.
