Important Reminder Regarding SSIS AQI Guidelines
|Dear Faculty and Staff,
This is a quick reminder of our Air Quality Index (AQI) guidelines and procedures at SSIS, to follow up from last week.
The guidelines regarding outdoor activities, including Physical Education classes and After School Activities (ASA), stipulate that when the AQI reaches 150 or above, as it has today, the Athletics/Activities Office will send a reminder to the divisional secretaries to notify their affected teachers.
In addition, the Athletics/Activities Department office will notify ASA leaders and coaches to refer to the guidelines and to modify activity as prescribed.
To be able to accurately address any potential challenges to our students, we carefully monitor the air quality at SSIS using monitoring devices specific to our campus. We do not use the numbers published for other districts in HCMC.
For your reference, please find the SSIS AQI monitor reading and internal guidelines for faculty and staff on SSIS Link at the following link, Air Quality Faculty AQI Guidelines.
And you can find the public AQI guidelines here, Outdoor Air Quality Guidelines.
Thank you for your cooperation with his important matter. Please contact Shelley Wowchuk or Jon Wrzesinski if you have any questions about our Air Quality Guidelines.
Best regards,
Catriona
