|Lisa’s Suggestions for Reading about COVID-19
In February 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) coined the phrase INFODEMIC to describe the large amount of COVID-19 information (and mis-information) being spread on Social Media sites. In response, the WHO launched its Social Media presence by “mythbusting” through Instagram and WhatsApp.
Do I read FaceBook? No.
Do I trust CNN? No.
Does my cousin in Canada have the best information on masks? No.
Every day I read only four sites (below).
That’s it.
Of course I do follow Justin Trudeau on Instagram — my one indulgence.
Vietnam Briefing (for businesses, a day behind but very accurate)
Vietnam Ministry of Health (open in google for English translation, details of each positive case)
Worldometer (private researchers but accurate numbers and lots of great info and good research if you drill down on the various tabs)
WHO situation reports (every day, link to Dr Tedros daily speech, new decisions, background research)
Instagram: follow WHO for infographics and mythbuster info
WhatsApp: type “hi” to +41 79 893 18 92
