58. Coronavirus Update: DaNang COVID-19 Alert
|Dear Faculty and Staff,
We have greatly appreciated the freedom to travel in HCMC and Vietnam. Therefore, it was rather an unpleasant surprise to read about the reported new positive case of COVID-19 in the DaNang community today. Please find more details here. Authorities are awaiting final confirmation of this case from Pasteur Clinic Nha Trang. On a more positive note, all 102 F1 case-related contacts tested negative last night.
However, until we have more information and the situation is controlled, please take the following precautionary measures:
- If you are currently in DaNang, please wear a mask at all times, wash your hands regularly, and maintain social distance. If you have any concerns about your health, please contact SOS before presenting to a hospital.
- If you are returning from DaNang and you have any worries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Lisa Chute or SOS for guidance.
- Please, do not visit DaNang in the next two weeks until this situation is under control, and the local transmission of COVID-19 is no longer a threat.
- If you have visited DaNang in the past month, please ensure that you have completed the essential travel questionnaire so that we can do contact tracing and follow up if needed.
Regardless of where you are, it is best practice to remain vigilant with all precautionary measures: wear masks when in public areas, wash hands often and maintain social distance.
Finally, please remember that if you travel or plan to travel anywhere within Vietnam, you must complete the essential travel questionnaire before you embark on your travel. In the event of an outbreak or a lockdown, this information is critical for the School.
Take good care out there.
All good wishes,
Catriona
