62. Coronavirus Update: IMPORTANT Update re DaNang from Lisa Chute
|Dear Faculty and Staff,
Last evening three new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in HCMC. As these were all related to travelers to DaNang since July 1, the D7 CDC has today revised its requirements.
Lisa Chute, who is in constant communication with the local CDC and International SOS, has outlined the details below.
We appreciate your continued flexibility and cooperation, as we can expect that procedures and requirements may change as the health experts evaluate and understand the situation.
As always, please direct all of your questions and concerns to Lisa and the nursing team and follow their directives.
And as always, take good care out there.

Dear All,
The three new positive cases of COVID-19 reported in HCMC were all related to travelers to DaNang since July 1. In light of this, the D7 CDC has contacted us this morning with additional recommendations and requirements.
Anyone who was in DaNang or traveled through DaNang Airport any time since July 1, must self-quarantine until they have a negative COVID-19 test. This is a stricter requirement from the previously directed 14-day quarantine. Until you receive your test result, please continue to monitor your health for any respiratory symptoms or fever.
Anyone who was in DaNang or traveled through DaNang Airport any time since July 1, will not be allowed on campus until they have a negative COVID-19 test. I will send an update shortly to those people that did visit DaNang and who are waiting for a testing appointment. You will need to submit your negative COVID-19 test certificate electronically and have it confirmed by the Nurse Office before you are allowed to enter the campus.
If you did NOT travel to DaNang in July, then you are permitted to come on campus, and no COVID-19 test is required. If you have any respiratory symptoms or fever, then please stay home and contact me directly.
The school will also require all students who have traveled to DaNang in July to present a negative COVID test before being allowed on campus. An email and survey will be sent to all SSIS families this week.
You should have received an SMS this morning from the Ministry of Health, requesting that you use the BLUEZONE app if you have traveled to Danang. This is a contact tracing app to enter names of people/places that you had close contact with.
The other helpful app is called NCOVI. This app is for everyone to declare health status daily.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I will keep you up to date.
