Communication about Preparing for a Return to Campus in January
|Dear Faculty and Staff,
As we have shared with parents in the letter below, we will not have approval to return to campus before mid-December at the earliest. Should schools reopen then, it may only be for grades 9 and 12, and we will invite the approved students for orientation. In the meantime, thank you for continuing to provide the outstanding teaching and learning virtual experience that you have provided for our students all semester.
We are actively preparing for a return to school on January 11, which means that all faculty and staff should plan to be on-site on January 10. Any exception to this return date would need to be approved by the Head of School.
For those traveling over the winter break, we ask that classrooms and any other preparations required to conduct classes in a physical environment are in place for your January 10 return to campus. Plans for the re-opening are currently being articulated, and you can expect a great deal of information, dialogue, and clarification in the weeks ahead.
This week, the news about the Omicron variant has likely added an additional stressor to many of our lives. As we, along with the rest of the world, await more information, let’s remember the technique of the physiological sigh and remain calm, cautious, and objective.
All good wishes,
Catriona
