COVID prevention measures in HCMC

Dear SSIS Faculty and Staff,

Today, the Department of Education and Training issued decree No.: 1820/SGDĐT-CTTT (translation here) as a result of a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in Ho Chi Minh City. Please note that despite the increase, the numbers are still very low.

Although we are awaiting the official decree from the Ministry of Health, we anticipate that this will mean that we may soon be instructed to wear masks on campus in group settings (details not available yet).

We realize that this is a disappointing change, as we’ve all become accustomed to the freedoms we now enjoy. However, we also understand that the government is initiating these changes to keep the population safe and to keep COVID-19 at bay prior to the upcoming holiday.

We will let you know as soon as we have more information and direction.
