Packing Lists in Case of Quarantines or Hospital Isolation

Preparing for home quarantine

Walk yourself through your daily and weekly routines, and think about what you would need to live comfortably in your home for 14 days without going out and without anyone coming in*. Here are some suggestions:

  • canned food
  • frozen vegetables
  • pasta, rice, bread*
  • water
  • medications for fever, cough, nasal congestion, asthma (your usual puffer)
  • usual prescription medications for at least 14 days
  • personal hygiene products
  • hand soap and laundry detergent
  • cleaning supplies (trash bags, paper towels, household cleaner)
  • tissues
  • pet supplies (food, cat litter, etc)
  • yoga mat or exercise equipment

*When a building is locked down, the delivery of goods to your door may still be possible.

Preparing for hospital isolation

Should you test positive for Covid-19 or be suspected of Covid-19 based on symptoms or close contact with F0, you will be taken to isolation at a local hospital.

Here are suggestions for what to take with you:

  • toothbrush, toothpaste,
  • toilet paper, tissues
  • hand sanitizer
  • masks
  • pajamas, underwear
  • book, phone, laptop and chargers
  • list of medications
  • usual medications for 14 days
  • list of close contacts
  • no valuables

Preparing for quarantine camp

If you are required to quarantine outside your home, you may be taken to one of the public “camps”. These facilities have varying degrees of comfort. In order to prepare for the least pleasant location, here are some suggestions:

  • usual medication (prescription and vitamins) for 14 days
  • several bottles of water for the first day until the distribution of food/ water starts
  • mosquito repellent, sunscreen
  • small blanket, yoga mat to sleep on
  • soap, shampoo, cosmetics
  • masks, hand sanitizer, tissue, toilet paper
  • wet wipes, towel
  • laptop, phone, iPad
  • power bar (may have limited outlets)
  • power bank (electricity may be reduced)
  • book, notebook, pens
  • lightweight clothing, long sleeves for protection from mosquitoes
  • underwear
  • protein snacks (nuts, protein bars, beef jerky)
