December 4-December 8

Dear ES Team,

There has been some confusion with our ASA program this season and we are working on creating some solutions for the future.  For the safety of our children, please review our ASA Policies and Procedures Manual.

This season is also a busy one for the ES Athletic program. This is the only season that third graders are invited to participate on teams (track and field)—and because of the large numbers, there will be some children who do not make the track and field team. We will be getting an updated list of participants by Monday—so please be advised that some children (who do not make the track and field team) will be able to join an ASA on Monday.  Also, I am going to start including the ES athletic snapshot on this blog.

Ms. Nikki and Ms. Thi prepared a beautiful concert with the G5 students yesterday afternoon.  The students were able to showcase their talents and we were able to enjoy many multi-cultural songs.  Listening to the entire 5th grade sing the final song was heartwarming—here are the lyrics:

There’s a change on the horizon.

There’s a change that’s sure to come

And that change is strong and steady

Like the beat of a drum.

In each life there is a spirit

In each spirit, there’s a light.

And that light is there to guide us,

Like a beacon in the night.

Let your light be a light of promise.

May it shine with a brilliant glow.

Let your light be a light of freedom

Let it burn and let it grow.

Keep you hope in times of trouble.

Keep your faith in what is right.

Let your heart forever guide you

To the truth and to the light.

Enjoy the weekend!

Cheers,

Donna
