Dear Team,

Congratulations to Nikki and Thanh on organizing our first annual Variety Show—there was so much joy, energy, and excitement in the auditorium this morning!  What an awesome way to end the week!

Also, congratulations to the third-grade team on successful sustainability snapshot presentations in the field area on Wednesday.  It was wonderful to see the children confidently present their research!

Molly Burger sent out some information about Wild Rhino this week:

Wild Rhino is once again hosting their semi-annual essay competition where 1 HS student from each of 12 international schools in HCMC is selected to participate in an African safari and rhino preservation work.  We have had 2 SSIS students travel on the trip in the last 3 years.  Wild Rhino will also be launching a program for ES and MS students with a comic and activity books that can be distributed to our students.  There is some type of competition involved with this (likely a small gift bag prize).

In order to build anticipation for the event which will formally launch in August, they would like to bring their Ranger Rhino mascot to school on two dates.  Molly has scheduled them to come from 7:30-8 on Thursday, April 12th and from 3-3:30 on Friday, May 18th.  She will assist with the mascot and locate them in the plaza for good visibility.

Erin Johnson will be serving as the MS liaison for the Wild Rhino campaign. Molly is hoping that there could be a liaison from ES as well.  For ES, the responsibilities would just be assisting with distribution of the comic and activity books. Please let Molly know if you can help!

Have fun at Happy Hour today (I’ll be thinking about everyone as I watch The Secret Life of Pets !:)

  • This is a new help desk link for us to use called SSIS Redmine Service Desk. Please use this for facilities’ request and if you are requesting our photographer to attend an event.  If you request the photographer, Mr. Dzim (our photographer) will email you directly to confirm. Here is an article stored on the SSIS Link  that explains the help desk work request.  The fields are explained to alleviate vagueness of terms.  Please take a look.
  • Please review the Athletic Calendar from Shelley—there are a lot of events for our students next week,
  • Please take photos of special events to share on our e-boards, with our marketing department, and with Truc for our yearbook file.
  • Please work on (and submit to Truc) Super Unit Text for the yearbook. If you have questions, please let me know.
