October 4 – 8
Welcome to October! October has always been one of my favorite months. This year, it brings us some hope!
I hope that you are able to find some added freedoms to enjoy this weekend.
Dan and I were both visited campus this past week and were very pleased with what we saw. As Dan noted in his email:
- Our facilities and operations team has done a great job with general cleaning of the elementary building. When you visit the campus, you will find it clean and comfortable with AC on. (Thanks to Wai Mun, Chris Beanes, and their team).
- For those of you that were moving classrooms this year, you stuff has been moved and is ready for you to unpack in your new room.
- For classes that are new homeroom classrooms, you will see that new furniture has arrived and been placed in the rooms.
- A number of teachers (Lisa and Ashley photos included) are teaching from school and Minh (photo also included) was in the office today getting things ready. She is working on your new room signs so your names will be up on your new rooms very soon.
- Orders have started to arrive (see photos of boxes in office and library), so that is also promising.
It is still a choice if people want to work from school. If you do choose to come in, we want to assure you that the school is ready for you and it is a nice, quiet, spacious, and fairly clean place to work.
We are here for you! Dan & I invite you to book meetings with us, using our Google Calendars, if you would like to talk about anything.
Bright Spots: Please take a moment to read the “bright spots” that were shared last week on the right side widget! Let’s continue to focus on, and celebrate, the good things.
When we do this we can share a joyful educator moment or share a shout out to a staff member who has brightened our day. You can find the form here!
Professional Development Opportunities: I have started a sidebar widget with links to amazing PD opportunities. If you know of others, please share with me, and I will continue to populate this.
This week’s Highlighted Resource: Are you interested in 3 Act Tasks for Math? This resource has student recording sheets and aligns with the common core math standards!
