October 3rd – 7th

“To Achieve great things, two things are needed: A plan and not quite enough time.”

-Leonard Bernstein

Over the next week and a half all grade levels will have a substantial amount of time during the day to plan for their grade levels upcoming super unit #2. This gift of time may not be enough to get it all done, but it will give each of you a plan to execute so the next unit can be as successful as the first. I was talking to a teacher this week who said they need a deadline, and actually impose self created deadlines because without it they would never finish anything because they need to not have enough time to finish. With all the time in the world things would rarely get done. We are here to support you with anything you need as you work against the clock to finish one unit and begin the next. Your hard work and dedication to students does not go unnoticed. We appreciate all you do even when you do not have quite enough time.

Weekly Focus:

Our focus this week continues to be on “I can” statements. If you have any questions about this please let us know!

FIRE DRILL

Great job responding to the fire alarm. We can never plan for when it might happen but the ES division response was exactly what we want. The students knew exactly what to do and where to go. They stopped playing their games and moved to the field quickly.

ASA’s

ASA issues seem to have been ironed out. If you have any ongoing questions or concerns let us know.

ROOM PARENTS

Please take a moment to fill out this doc to better help them communicate expectations and roles to parents.

25th Anniversary Ideas

The theme for the 25th anniversary of the school revolves around mangrove trees. Please look at this Jamboard for ideas that have already been shared. Please share any ideas you have with Melanie or Edward so we can pass them along.

DUTY

Please remember that duty is a verb. We should be walking around and keeping our eyes on students.
