Sept. 4th – Sept. 8th

As we embark on a new week of learning and growth, let’s embrace the opportunity for personal and professional development. Embrace your zone of discomfort and explore new teaching methodologies, environments of curiosity and engagement. Take advantage of the available professional development we have on Tuesday. Seek moments of self-care and well-being, and continue to inspire our students with your growth and dedication. Together, let’s make this week one of growth, collaboration, and empowerment as we embrace the transitions that pave the way for our students’ success.

Find at least one nugget of learning on Tuesday that you commit to using in your classroom this week. Share with your students that you too are learning and trying new things. This first super unit is about understanding ourselves. Be vulnerable with your students and talk about your learning from Tuesday with them this week.

Tuesday Schedule

Tomorrow morning there are two sessions of TTT. Attendance at both sessions is expected. The overview of what is being presented can be found here. The sessions run from 8:00 – 8:45 and from 9:00 – 9:45.

It is not mandatory for TA’s to attend the TTT’s but TAs may attend any session they like as well. Please allow your TA’s to attend the sessions of their choice if they want to participate. Let me know if you have any questions.

10:00 – 12:00 – WASC QFT

12:00 – 1:00 – Lunch on own

1:00 – 1:30 – Auditorium (All attend)

1:30 – 3:00 – WASC work

Nursing visits

Nursing visits continue to hold steady, but this past week the majority of visits (80%) were visits that needed nurse attention. We are doing a great job of understanding the needs of our students.

Purple Moments

A big appreciation to Ms Dung & Mr Duoc for organizing all materials required for the first Grade 5 challenging and powerful learning experience (Pong Challenge)
Thank you Sarah for all the amazing work you have began with aligning the Grade 5 literacy lessons with the power standards, learning targets and ”I can statements”. This will go along way as we embark on our literacy audit for G5. You are celebrated!
Happy Birthday Ms Ng’an! May all your dreams shine!
