November 13th – 17th
November often brings a certain lull in the teaching year. Some of us call it a valley, a lull, or a low. It’s a time when the freshness of the new school year has settled, and the holiday season is just around the corner and everyone is working furiously. However, this year, my November feels different, vibrant, and exceptionally fulfilling.
I’ve had the unique opportunity to conduct more than 25 interviews with various candidates who are excited about joining our community. Each conversation has been like a window, offering new perspectives and insights into the diverse opportunities we offer teachers, students and parents. Every applicant is applying for different reasons and it has been an enlightening and enriching experience to speak to the strengths of SSIS and how we have opportunities that meet all of their needs and wants as educators. Additionally, each candidate consistently praises our school, reflecting the positive impressions they’ve gotten from friends, colleagues, and the information available on our website and on the net.
What excites me the most about these interactions is the chance to showcase our school. As I talk about our innovative programs, our dedicated staff, and our vibrant student community, I can’t help but feel a surge of pride. It’s not just about discussing our academic excellence or state-of-the-art facilities; it’s about sharing the stories that make our school unique.
These interviews have reminded me of the dynamic environment we’ve created for our students and the dynamic educators who make it happen.
So, this November, instead of a teaching low, I find myself riding a wave of enthusiasm. It’s a wave built on connections, stories, and the pride of being part of a school that’s more than just an educational institution. It’s a community, a family, and a place where people feel “home.”
Thank you for letting me brag about all of you and all the hard work you put into making SSIS a world-class international school.
