Dear ES Team, Happy New Year! December 4-December 8

Dear ES Team, There has been some confusion with our ASA program this season and we are working on creating some solutions for the future.  For the safety of our children, please review our ASA Policies and Procedures Manual.   This season is also a busy one for the ES Athletic program. This is the only season that third graders are invited to participate on teams (track and field)—and because of the large numbers, there will be some children who do not make the track and field team. We will be getting an updated list of participants by Monday—so please...

Dear ES Team, The weeks before the end of the semester are usually filled with many emotions.  These can be joyful weeks, yet they can also be stressful ones–we are all busy preparing for Super Unit celebrations, we have progress report deadlines, and we are planning for the second semester and the holidays.  These busy times are also perfect times to pause and reflect on our relationships and our culture, affording us the opportunity to recalibrate and count our daily blessings. Life is about relationships, and building strong relationships is a priority for us.  Fostering a culture of respect in...

Dear ES Team, There is an SSIS MS MRISA basketball tournament next week and we are hoping that we can have some elementary participation in the event on Friday, Nov. 10.  Last year, ES classes came in and supported teams from other schools during their games– creating a fun, lively, and loud environment for the athletes. Hopefully, we can do the same this year!   Please consider signing up for a game (or even 15-20 of a game). Enjoy the weekend—and welcome back to everyone who participated in the L2 Conference! Cheers, Donna Reminders: Please take photos of special events to share...

I will be leaving for the EARCOS conference on Tuesday, October 24 and will be back in school the following Monday.  If you need anything, please feel free to contact me via email.  If there are any emergencies, please contact Jacob Humes. Thank you for emailing your families about our International Day plan—the children may dress in attire to represent their country that day–and we all should plan on visiting the PTA booths.  Also, thank you for letting your...

October 9-20

Dear ES Team, In order to support our core values and keep our children safe, I met with our bus monitors and have urged them to give me feedback when there is inappropriate behavior and negative attitudes being displayed on the bus.  I hope that after break, you will take a few minutes to review our School Bus Conduct Expectations with your students in order to ensure they understand our expectations. It’s been incredible to witness the various Super Unit celebrations.  I am impressed by the collaborative work, quality of instruction, commitment of faculty and staff, and the depth of...
