Week Update: Nov. 3
|Today I am reflecting on my amazing circumstance; attending a conference in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Here I sit, gazing at the swaying palm trees that frame the view of a blue harbour with islands in the distance, as I work to communicate with colleagues in a different country. So much to marvel about.
Well, I’ve certainly enjoyed my time so far at the EARCOS Leadership Conference. Getting to hear from leaders throughout the region (and a few from further afield) about the bright spots in their school’s experience has given the SSIS team here lots to think about. I look forward to sharing with you all when I return.
Thanks for ensuring things are running smoothly during my absence. I’ve tried to keep track of things floating through email … Here is what’s up for the coming week (if there are corrections, please let me know):

Collaboration and Divisional PD this week
We are lucky to have 2 opportunities to work on divisional work this week. We will begin looking at current questions/wants/needs surrounding our schedule. I am looking forward to progressing on this work.
EARCOS Weekend with Jennifer Sparrow
If you haven’t signed up to attend the weekend EARCOS workshop, I encourage you to really think about it. Using assessment as a part of learning has one of the largest impacts on improving student achievement. Please see Tina’s email for more details.
Repeat from Email: Parent Teacher Conference Numbers
The numbers are in! In general, we had a better distribution of conferences this year between the 3 different session times. We also saw a 19% increase in the number of conferences. This is fantastic! Nice work team!
