Week Ahead, March 30

Just 3 days with students, but a very packed week.  Here is what’s up:

Student Led Conferences
Mai Anh has been tracking down your signups.  But please remind your advisees to have their parents sign up for a time on Thursday or Friday.  We are striving for 100% attendance (which is what we had last year).  We have already heard from some parents who are out of town this week, but they have scheduled make up sessions.

As you set up your room for the conferences here are some tips from last year:

• Set up 2 areas in the room in opposite ends of the room if possible.  This allows one group to run over but the other to start on time.
• Put a few chairs outside your classroom door for early birds to wait (but don’t leave them out there if one group is running long … bring the in on time).
• Some teachers played quiet instrumental music during the conferences – was a nice touch.
• Be sure to collect the “Compliments and a Goal” sheet (and encourage students to write for their parents or to have the parents write in their mother tongue).
• Take a photo of each group and email it to the student/parent (and cc Mai Anh).  It was a very nice touch from last year.

Traveling to HS MRISA
I will be going to see my daughters play in the MRISA soccer tournament this weekend.  We depart at 10 on Thursday and return Sunday.  This means I won’t be here to support you during Student Led Conferences.  However, Bonnie Bertoia will be available as needed.
