  • Apr 18-22 – Earth Week

Student Led Conferences:  We are still striving for 100% attendance for conferences. Please be emailing your remaining parents and talking with your advisees to help us reach that goal.  On Thursday, there will be sandwiches and fruit available in the faculty lounge starting at 3:30.  On Friday, we will have some snacks in the lounge as well.  Coffee, tea and cookies will be set out for parents, students, and faculty as well.  As you are getting ready for conferences, here are a few things for you to think about / do to ensure a great experience for all:

  • set up your room for 2 conference “stations” (this will allow students to start on time even if a group is running a bit over)
  • play quiet music
  • have a camera ready to take a family photo; drop those into the 2016 SLC Photos folder
  • have all paperwork set out and easily accessible (a parent guide, compliment and goal sheet, and the “comment only” report cards will all be in your box on Thursday – enough for each conference/family)
  • prompt and guide students/families if they appear stuck
  • collect Compliments/Goal sheet before parents leave (let parents know they can write it in any language – in the past some have hesitated because they didn’t think their English was good enough).

Principal Survey:  With the head of school survey finished, the divisional principals are next up.  From now until Wednesday, March 23rd my survey (as middle school principal) will be open for you to complete.  These anonymous surveys will be completed using Survey Monkey.  I want to thank you in advance for providing me with feedback that I will use for personal and professional growth as well as in thinking about the direction of our division.  Your honest feedback (especially the written free responses) is much appreciated.   You can access the survey HERE.
