Update on Counseling Services: A huge thanks to Chris Anderson for working with us these past two weeks. I think we are all really glad that we will get to continue to work with Chris next year as he steps into the role of librarian. Be sure to give him a pat on the back on Friday – his last day! We will have Colleen Hsu join us on Monday and help us through the rest of the year. We are so thankful to have her join us! Here is a bit of information about her (was posted to eNews): Ms. Hsu has recently joined the SSIS community along with her husband Mr. Hsu, who is a high school math teacher, and their two young children. With two children in elementary school and serving as a substitute teacher, Ms. Hsu has also been a familiar face around campus. She is currently completing her Masters of Arts in School Counseling at Adams State University. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Neuroscience from Mount Holyoke College. Ms. Hsu developed a deep interest in school counseling while supporting her own elementary-aged children socially, emotionally and academically especially in connection to their schooling. Prior to moving to SSIS, Ms. Hsu and her family were in Delhi, India where they lived for three years.
Calendar Updates: Be sure to check the ever shifting sands of the calendar. I’m really trying to keep up with the small changes that are happening. If you notice that something isn’t quite right, please let me know right away.
Final Hires: We are pleased that Kevin Hale has accepted a part-time PE position split between the ES and MS. This means that we are almost completely set for hiring for 17-18 (the last thing is Exploratory Drama 6 – but we have an offer out there).
Proactive Duty: . Thank you to all who have been stepping out into the halls during transitions times. This proactive approach is really helping us manage students during this very busy and exciting time.
ICT End of Year Details: From David’s email: Please take the time to read the following information relating to technology for the end of the school year and over the summer. Please contact a member of the Technology Team if you have questions or concerns. We are here to help.
