MS Week Ahead: Sept. 18
|It’s been a great (and busy) week. And yet, we still have one more excellent day this week.
I am still in need of 3 additional volunteers to take their class to the Apple Distinguished School celebration on Friday. The program starts promptly at 2:30 (so attendees need to be in their seats by 2:25) and will feature 2 middle school students talking about the innovative program at they have experienced. Please let me know if you are willing to take your class.
Next week brings us back to normal in terms of types of events and meetings going on. Definitely a welcome normal 🙂 Thank you to everyone who stepped up and made this very busy week so successful!

Bulletin Board Requests: Two student groups have asked for use of bulletin boards for their work. The first is StuCo. They will be using the bulletin board by the gym. The second is GIN, they will be using the bulletin board across from Kate Werner’s room. The third is an individual student who wants to start a Student HOD bulletin board. He will be using the vertical bulletin board by the office. They are so excited to improve visibility and to accomplish their goals. Thank you to all who have supported their thinking and for understanding their need for the boards.
Core Value Posters: I’m borrowing from my ES colleague. There are official posters for our Core Values. We are in the process of creating different professional versions of our core documents. Please let me know if you want Core Value posters 🙂 We can get them made for you! They are beautiful!
Dance on Friday: It’s here! The kids are super excited and ready for some fun. I am hoping that we can take time this coming week to reinforce some of the dance behavioral expectations. Here are the things we usually talk about:
- Students must be on time for the dance (5:00). If for some reason, a student needs to come after 5:00, they need prior permission from Mrs. Burger
- Safety is important – no running or dangerous behaviors; stay in supervised areas
- Respect for all means we don’t take video of each other dancing (we all feel awkward enough); we don’t gather around dancing couples and clap, cheer or take pictures (they deserve maturity from us); we work to help all of us have fun at the dance
