New Email “MS Division” List: We discovered that there was some confusion about how the MS Faculty email group worked – staff weren’t actually included in that group so they never got the emails (this includes people like Sanny, Khanh, Nguyen, and Hung). 4 years and I never knew this! So this has been fixed with the creation of a MS Division email group (same with all the divisions). So now when we need to email everyone in the division, please use MS Division.
Review Lunch Locations with Students: Students have been wandering a bit during lunch times. Please review available lunch locations and general procedures with your students on multiple occasions during this coming week. Also, please remember that it isn’t okay to dismiss kids early for lunch – it causes a domino effect of unintended consequences (like getting kids into the gym and Dragon’s Den way to early). Here is what to highlight:
- Available locations for eating food and beverages: cafeteria, patio, art room when it is open
- When can I take my smoothie and treats? see the first bullet
- Available locations after eating: cafeteria, patio, back field, atrium, gym (see schedule), library, Dragon’s Den, computer lab, art room (on certain days)
- What time do these places become available: about 10-15 minutes after lunch starts (yes, students are supposed to be in the cafeteria for at least 10 minutes so that they can actually eat)
- Places that are not available after eating: every place not listed on the available list (see above)
Because students are wandering a bit, I am in need of a bouncer to assist on the 4th floor for a bit. If you are willing to swing by the 4th floor next week to help move kids to the available locations, it would be greatly appreciated.
Bonnie’s Return and Hang’s Departure: Bonnie will be returning after Fall Break. She will have her first day on Oct. 16th! Right after her return, Hang will be going on maternity leave starting Oct. 23. We have hired a substitute for Hang. She will start Oct. 2 to ensure a smooth handover.
