Week Ahead: April 16-20

It’s been a great week.  Thank you to all who hosted our visiting artists in their classes.  It was so great to see our students working with Lauren and Ruby. Providing our students with the opportunity to talk with people who have made livings in the arts is so powerful!

I hope you join me as we wrap up the week with the 20th Anniversary Ceremony.  This will start at 4:30 with a reception and the ceremony starting at 5pm.  It will be a lovely reflection on the 20 years of SSIS.  We will also be treated to a performance from MS and HS musicians.  There will be beer/wine and snacks at the event.

Installation of CTP Secure Browser: All advisors will assist their advisories install the CTP secure browser.  This was detailed by David R during our division meeting this Wednesday.  This should be done on Tuesday or Wednesday during DEAR.  If you have a student who has issues with the installation, please alert David R.

CTP Update:  We will be administering the CTP on May 3, 4, 8, 9 and 15.  Though we haven’t finalized the block schedule for those days (we are still trying to determine which tests go on which days), you can anticipate that 1.5 to 2 hrs will be dedicated to testing on May 3, 4, 8, and 9; 1 hr dedicated to testing on May 15.  Class blocks on those days will be about 55-60 minutes long.  As soon as we have the schedule finalized, I will post it up.

Hiring Update:  I am so happy to confirm that Gil Legaspi has accepted the math/science/health position for next year.  This means we only have one final position to hire – the .5 librarian position.  I will begin on that process in the coming week.
