Week Ahead: Nov. 4-8

My head is feeling full.  From 4 fantastic days of Cognitive Coaching to an incredibly insightful pre-conference session on Leading Innovative Change (by the always fantastic Jennifer Sparrow), my brain is in full on cognitive fire!  One of my big take aways from both experiences is that I am so thankful to be on this journey with you, our team.  My heart is full too.  Together we will address the impacts of growth, plan for the opportunities that brings, and envision a powerful framework for what middle level education looks like at SSIS.

Tripod Surveys:  We will be administering the Tripod student surveys again this year.  We will be doing 2 a day over the course of 4 days.  This is to ensure that we complete the surveys before WWW.  These surveys have proved to be valuable in generating feedback directly from students.   The survey should take 10-15 minutes of class time.   It is essential that you follow the schedule for administration.  New faculty (and anyone else who would like a refresher) will have an introduction to Tripod on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7:30am in the MS conference room.  If you have any questions or concerns about this, please notify me right away.

Dates / Blocks:
Nov 11 – B and C blocks
Nov 12 – F and G blocks
Nov 13 – D and A blocks
Nov 14 – H and E blocks

Here are relevant documents:
Tripod Administration Directions and Script (be sure to read the script to ensure validity of the survey)
Which blocks for each teacher:  You will be giving the survey to a sample of students.  Most teachers will administer to 3 blocks; others will administer to 4. You can see your blocks on the MS tab.
