Week Ahead: Nov. 11-15
|So my whirlwind has begun, and I’m so excited to have it culminate in a week to step away from typical school and into the forest at Madagui with our amazing students! From the great learning at EARCOS to exploring the conceptual design presented by Flansburgh to speaking with amazing educators who are eager to join our community at the recruitment fair in Dubai, I am feeling inspired, invigorated, and excited about the path before us. Learning and inspiration continues this week with our team going to Singapore for a school visit (which has turned into a mini conference-ish experience with 3 visiting schools plus the host school). I find myself feeling so grateful for all of these opportunities and the amazing colleagues walking with me along the path (well, maybe running with me along the path right now … I look forward to moving back to a slow jog).

Hiring Update: First – Thank you to all who have assisted in the hiring process this year. Ensuring good fit with candidates is time consuming, and oh-so incredibly important. We are moving right along and have already made 2 great hires for MS Counselor (Hillary Banks) and for Digital Literacy/Exploratory Writing (Tyler Banks) positions. The hiring puzzle for MS is really complex this year due to the addition of 1 section at grade 6. I am in conversation now with a few candidates who might be able to take 2 of the part-time positions and create a full time hire. This is very exciting. Right now we have the following positions available – the full time, part-time amount is noted in ():
- Social Studies (1.0)
- PE (.8 MS / .2 HS)
- Drama (.65)
- Spanish (.4)
- Math or Science (.4)
- Yearbook (.2)
Vietnamese Teachers’ Day: Vietnamese Teacher day is when we are on WWW. Not to worry – though we won’t be here for the amazing PTA lunch, the PTA is planning something special for us!
