Week Ahead: Oct. 5-9
|Wrapping up the first quarter of 21-22 – in person – no COVID – what an amazing accomplishment! We get to wrap it up meeting our parents and students face to face for conferences. Such an excellent way to end the quarter!
And then … Fall Break! Rest, relaxation, and opportunities to explore Vietnam (even if you are staycationing … HCMC is amazing … so many things to see and do). Let’s all commit to finding ways to fill our cups over the break. I, for one, am joining the Canadian Thanksgiving Celebration hosted by CanCham 🙂 They are so nice they even let Americans come. So excited to fill my cup with turkey and fellowship.
A Few Friday Reminders: Hillary will be meeting with all new students during Dragon Time, 1:00-1:40, as a celebration of their transition. Students will be asked to check in with advisory before going to the auditorium.

Morning Cafeteria Duty This Week:

Tuesday, Oct 6 | 7:30-8:00 | Day 3 (B) | Gema Luque |
Wednesday, Oct 7 | 7:30-8:00 | Day 4 (F) | Sanny |
Molly “at” WASC Accreditation Visit: I will be a member of a “visiting committee” for the accreditation visit for International School Yangon all next week. This means I will be in a variety of Zoom meetings throughout the day – and working on the report at night. I will still be available next week; but possibly not at super convenient times.
Comments blocked for students / PS app down: Starting yesterday (Sept. 30) comments were hidden from parents and students. This requires shutting down the app. Student and parents can still see grades when they access PS via the web.
Pizza Parties! We will be having the pizza parties next week from 1-1:40 (Monday for G8; Tuesday for G6 and 7). We had 97% attendance overall – 21 advisories with 100%; 4 advisories with only 1 missing; and 2 with only 2 missing. Incredible! So pizza for everyone! We have estimated 2 pieces for each student and teacher (there will be pepperoni and cheese pizzas in each advisory). We’d be happy to have help with delivery 🙂 so perhaps send a student down at 1:00 to pick up the pizza!
Evacuation Drill, Tuesday at 2:00: This evacuation drill should be announced to students. Please remind your classes about your evacuation route; remind your advisees that they regroup into advisory; remind your advisees where you are in the line up (the number on your folder). As a reminder to you: please take your students back into the building via the cafeteria, back stairs to the gym, or through the back door by the elevators. Please try to avoid the atrium on your way back in.
