Week Ahead: Dec. 7-11
|Thank you all so much for your quick and positive response to ensuring a safe environment for all of us as the need to tighten COVID protocols. As a team, we are always able to pivot, shift, and ensure the best situation for our students. We will be continuing with these stricter protocols until further notice.
This is going to be a fantastic two weeks! There is so much fun to be had as we close out semester 1.
Joining us starting Monday, Dec. 7 is Thao Dinh who will be our new Middle School Office Assistant. Thao will be working side by side with Hang until Hang’s final day on January 14. Please swing by the office to meet and welcome Thao!

Advisory Lesson this Week: Focused on global citizenship … John Urdal sent this very position message reminding us about the importance of our advisory lessons:
I just finished participating in the EARCOS “Bridging East and West” webinar with Dr. Josephine Kim. Many of the topics from this webinar and the one she did last month have learnings that are included in the advisory lesson we started Thursday. I realize that this is a pretty busy time of the school year for both students and teachers and I would love to see all students and teachers take part in this lesson and its learning experiences. Do you think you could put a reminder in the blog to advisors to be sure to complete the 2nd part of this advisory lesson on “Know Thyself as a Global Citizen.”
Winter Concert Update: With the change to COVID protocols, we can no longer have the music concerts as planned. Thank you to Stephen Ada for making some quick shifts to ensure that the students can still perform … and now be recorded. We are shifting the music classes back to the auditorium so that they can continue rehearsing and then to record. Because they need all the floor space, we will not be able to have a concert for students in the auditorium. However, we will play the recording for the student body (hopefully on Dec. 17). Please note that this requires Block E Music 8 student to miss their Block A class on Friday Dec. 11. Please be on the look out for an email from Stephen A with the names of those students.
Winter Celebration Dec. 17: We are working out the plans for a COVID safe Winter Celebration and Gingerbread House / Cookie event. More details on this will be forthcoming. In general though, we will be having holiday celebration activities as well as some form of divisional assembly on Dec. 17.
