The year of the Tiger promises bold action, bravery and fortitude.  It’s said that it’s a year for change, risk taking, and adventure, and with it being the year of the Water Tiger, there is still a strong focus on  family and building interpersonal relationships.  Here’s to the year of the Tiger!

With our G6 students coming back on campus this week (along with the EC-5’s too) it definitely starting out with bold action!  Please read the blog thoroughly … and the link to the plan for G6 orientation as it impacts most of us in some way or another (even if not teaching G6)

Return to Campus from Tet:
The Department of Education and Training DoET requires SSIS to collect travel information on all SSIS staff and students that travelled between January 27 and February 6, 2022. The Health Office is asking every member of SSIS staff and faculty to complete this survey about travel during the Tet break. Also please remember to do a home COVID test BEFORE returning to campus on Monday Feb 7. No need to report your negative results. But if your test is positive, then please do not come to campus and do contact me (093 823 7080) or the Nurse HOTLINE (090 994 1100).

G6 Orientation Days:
Please note the special schedules for G6 as they come for on-campus orientation.  We are going to have some logistical issues to overcome to support the orientation happening when G7 and 8 are attending the regular class schedule.  Please see this document 21-22 Return to Physical School for the details.  This impacts most of us … so please don’t assume that because you aren’t a G6 advisor that this doesn’t impact you 🙂

For One Day: Recess Area Change (Monday, Feb. 7)
HS needs the field during lunch Monday for an HL event, and we are happy to share.  If your duty is on the front field please switch to the back field today.  Please direct students away from the HS activity.

DEAR Starts This Week:
Just a reminder that DEAR starts Tuesday!  During Dragon Time, you’ll be showing your G7 and 8 students the video created by Cintia and answer any questions (or pass them along to Cintia if it’s something we haven’t considered yet).  Thursday and Friday (and from that point forward), the first 15 minutes of Dragon Time is dedicated to DEAR.  Please note: G6 this may need to wait until the week of Feb. 14 if it doesn’t make it into the orientation plans.  Roxanne will confirm this.
