G8 PE Dance Celebration:  Grade 8 students will be doing their annual PE Dance Celebration on Friday, April 8.  Though we are unable to perform with a large, live audience of screaming fans, we are able to have a small venue performance using the Black Box theater (thank you to Adele, Ana Maria and Lisa S for making that possible).  G8 students will be off timetable for 2 blocks each.  Teachers who are affected have be alerted.

PE teachers have divided the grade 8 students into 2 performing groups.  The first group will miss F and G blocks.  The 2nd group will miss G and H blocks.  You can see which students are in which group here:  Groups for G8 PE Dance Celebration.
At this time, we do not think we can have more people in the Black Box than the students who are performing (so no additional student audience members can come)  However, there is always room for teachers 🙂   So if you have a prep, we hope you come down to catch at least some of the performances.  The performances are scheduled:
  • Group 1: 10:00-11:00 Perform in Black Box
  • Group 2: 11:15- 12:15 Perform in Black Box
Study Zone+ is Working – ???
Students are responding well to the new Study Zone+ program. In the last 2 weeks, MS Dragons submitted and you graded 178 late assignments. Students who do attend are honing their independent learning skills by prioritizing their assignments and estimating how long tasks take with this Study Card.
We hope this new program continues to motivate those who are able to manage their SSIS workload to do so more independently. This will let all of us have more time to focus on those who truly need the extra support. The MS Study Zone+ Tracker is updated bi-weekly by Ms. Duong. Look here to see who is currently on the list. (Thank you, Ms. Duong!)
A special thank you to our current Study Zone+ “Learning Coaches”: Abby Morgan, Cintia Bastos, Lili Dubois, Anne O’Hare, and Katja Gerasimova.
