Week Ahead: May 2-6

Hope you had a great 4 day weekend.  As the weather heats up here in Vietnam, so does the “busy” level at SSIS.  Check out the upcoming events between now and the end of the year.  So as I think about what’s to come, I think about it as choices.  We get to chose what opportunities we create for our students.  And the end of year is full of the ones they remember for a long, long time – the performances, the pressure of the end of term, the celebrations, and the fun time with their friends.  Our intentionality matters – so let’s keep working together, planning and creating experiences that our students will remember.

By the way, I will continue to update these, and this is the central location where you can find dates that may impact your planning.

If you are using your Google calendar, please note that events are found on 1 calendar – the one that includes the greatest amount of people impacted (this is a school wide practice).  So for middle school events, if the event involves a large group of students and/or parents, it goes on the MS Parent/Student calendar.  If it only impacts teachers, it goes on the MS Faculty calendar.  I highly recommend turning on (or adding if you haven’t done that yet; here are the directions) the MS Parent/Student calendar and the MS Faculty calendar.  This may help with tracking events and activities.

Middle Level Leadership Opportunities:

The middle school leadership team has finalized the open positions for the 2022-23 school year.   It is now time to open the application process.   Middle level leadership continues to be foundational to our growth as a school and a division. This reflects the prioritized value of working together as a division recognizing the strengths and talents of all our members in order to continually improve.
Please watch this short video which provides an overview of the leadership structure and the leadership roles available at SSIS and in the middle school.  The video also reviews a new position created for the 22-23 school year, Advisory Lead.

Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and review the materials.  And most importantly, thank you for the leadership you provide the division in both formal and informal ways.
