Final Week: June 6-10
|Closing it out in grand fashion! This past week there were 3 amazing drama productions along with the wrap up of the service learning unit in advisory. This week promises the same. There are many fun events this week – and a strong need for a proactive approach to student management. We haven’t had many of these activities since the 18-19 school year. So anticipation is high, and energy levels even higher. Please be out in the halls during passing times; proactive redirection is our go-to choice. If that doesn’t work, please let Roxanne and I know – we can help give individual tune ups to support students if they are struggling with the schedule disruptions and different structures of the last week.
You will find all the special schedules for the week below. Please let me know what questions you have – or if you see something that doesn’t look right.
In order to help keep all of us (including students) on the same page, we are going to try to streamline communication and emails this week. If you have messages to go to students, please check in with Roxanne. If you have messages you want to go to all the division, please check in with me. We will try to group them and still get the information out expeditiously.
It’s going to be busy, and it’s going to be such a special end of the year for our students. Thank you so much for all the effort you are putting in to make it this way!

Yearbook Distribution Plan:
On Monday from 2:30-3:00 we will distribute the yearbooks in the gym. Please bring your advisory to the gym as quickly as possible. Here is what I’d like to see to help make distribution run smoothly:
- Have your advisory sit in a single file line facing the screen/PE office.
- Molly will remind students of good yearbook signing etiquette and then begin distribution.
- Bring 1 student with you to collect the books for your advisory; book pick up stations will be at the front.
- You’ll be given enough books and a check out sheet.
- Distribute 1 book to each student and mark them off on the check out sheet. Return the sheet to Duong.
- Ensure that each of your advisees writes their name on the front inside cover of their book.
Locker Clean Out, Management of Student Belongings:
We will be collecting locks this week and having students clean out their lockers. As an advisory, your responsibility is to:
- Collect the correct lock from each student; note if the student has lost their lock or turned in the wrong one (Duong will have a document for you)
- Inspect the locker making sure all belongings are out an all decorations are cleaned off completely.
For all of us, once we collect the lockers, safety of student belongings becomes very important. Please lock your classrooms when you are going to be out of it for any stretch of time; and when we have events and activities, advisors should lock their advisee belongings in their classrooms.
Splash Day Plan:
We are pleased to return to having a Splash Day. This annual tradition was interrupted by COVID and we haven’t been able to have one since June 2019. So what is it? There will be 10 stations of fun out on the field that involve various levels of getting wet. Student have free choice in the activities. Teachers help run/supervise the activities. We also have high school volunteers (hopefully) to assist at the stations as well. There will also be a final chance to earn HL point during Splash Day at some of the stations. Please review the plan and find which activity/station you are helping to run and supervise. Finally, huge thanks to Sanny and Bryan for organizing this amazing event.
Friday Final Day Plan:
Friday is the final day for students and teachers. We have a blend of choice activities, advisory time, whole division assemblies and grade level assemblies. Because this is the least “routine” day for students, please be very proactive in your supervision. You can see the full schedule below.
