We are thrilled to have so many eager leaders within the student body!  This Tuesday, they will be giving their campaign speeches.  Please be on the look out for more details from Phil and Meghan.

New Staff Shirts:

We kindly ask you all to wear your new staff shirt for the first time on Wednesday September 21 to celebrate this milestone together.
(Please resist wearing the new staff shirt until then.)

Tech Tip from Daniel:

For those teachers that need to charge their Apple TV Remote and you don’t have a lightning cable (i.e., you are an Android phone user), you have a couple of options:

  1. You can borrow a cable from the Tech Office.
  2. You can take your remote down to the Library and charge it in one of the iPad carts.
  3. You can leave the remote in my office, and I will charge it.
It takes about 3 hours before it charges fully.

From Dan Long – ASA Support:

Can you please remind your divisions that After School Activities (ASAs) have started as of Monday. Sep 5.  All athletic facilities are booked daily from 3:15-6:00 and are prioritized for student athletics. If you are needing a designated athletics space during that time, please check with our Athletics and ASA team first; there may be a way to accommodate your request.

There will also be some classrooms used by teachers and outside providers for ASAs. Sala will follow up with an email to teachers whose room will be used during the ASA time. Rooms are rotated throughout the year so that the same rooms are not always impacted.
Thanks for your understanding and support.

If you have any experience with or interest in Debate, we need your help! There is a large (45!!) bunch of enthusiastic and engaged 9th-12th graders who have joined the HS Debate program this year.  Our school’s membership in the National Speech and Debate Association connects us to the competitions happening in the US and internationally.

We are in need of some judges for a few upcoming online tournaments including Springboard scrimmages on the early morning of Oct 7 & Oct 21.  Judges would support one online round of Public Forum debate from approx. 6am-7:15.  We are also looking for judges to support entries in the Georgetown University fall tournament.  This would involve commitment through the nights of October 8-9 and October 9-10 (you night owls will love this one), and judging would take place from the comfort of your own home. Availability can be specified to a specific date or 2 round shift  (about 4 hours) if we have enough people to share a duty.   No experience necessary.  Training will be provided.

Please let Diana Sorobey know if you are available and interested in supporting our students as a Debate judge.
