Week Ahead: Feb. 13-17
|Kicked off by an epic HL paper airplane challenge, this was a big weekend with the Midnight Marathon, VEX robotics, Boys and Girls U19 Varsity Basketball SISAC Championship, Boys and Girls U19 Varsity Badminton Championship tournament, along with probably even more things that I don’t even know about! The fun continues to ramp up as does the need to track all of these great things. Don’t forget to check the MS Planning Calendar. It’s an attempt to capture things that impact lesson planning. If you see something is missing, please sent it my way so it can be added.

Gradebook Check:
Believe it or not, we are heading into the 3rd week of Quarter 3. Students should have at least 1 form of feedback visible in PowerSchool at this point. Because of the speed of the quarter, we are going to intentionally be reminding all of us about the Grade Reporting Guidelines.
Learning Plan Meeting:
We are working to schedule annual learning plan meetings for this week. It is a priority to include teacher input into the process along with the input of parents, the student, counseling, admin, and the LS teacher. Ann will be reaching out to invite teachers as participants to the meeting as well as to get feedback from all teachers (whether attending the meeting in person or not). Thank you in advance for providing your expertise and insight into how to support our students to the best of our abilities.
On the Radar – CTP in April:
The standardized test we use at SSIS for grades 6-8 is the Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP). This will take place on April 11, 12, 19 and 20. Please be on the look out for upcoming information regarding set up, test prep, and the finalized “bell” schedule. There are certain things that will be done in Advisory/Dragon Time as well as things done in ELA and Math classes to prepare students for the test. The general bell schedule will look like this:
- 8-8:55 Block 1
- 9:00- 10:50 Testing Block
- 10:55- 11:50 Block 2
- 11:55-12:20 ADV/Dragon Time/DEAR
- 12:20-1:00 Lunch
- 1:05-2:00 Block 3
- 2:05- 3:00 Block 4

SLC DOCS:
Once again – put here for quick access. Thanks for your great questions at the divisional meeting focused on SLCs. As you think about the upcoming work, please continue to ask those questions.

TRIPOD SURVEY RESULTS:
And again – here are the reflection docs for Tripod. Thank you to all who have had their Tripod meetings already. They have been insightful and very rewarding. As you review your survey data, remember to review all 3 (or 4) reports. You can access those by clicking on Reports on the top bar. Also, click on the side bar to see the itemized details, as well as the section on peer supports, mindsets, and school climate. All layers provide good data for you to reflect upon.
- Tripod Reflection Protocol: This is created by Tripod and will be especially helpful for those who have never done a Tripod survey before. The information is valuable, and there is a reflection worksheet you could use.
- Here is a shorter reflection form that has also been used (you’ll need to make a copy). If you want to use this one, I recommend using it in conjunction with the information in the Tripod Reflection Protocol.
- There is also a Teacher Tool Kit created by Tripod. This kit goes into depth into the different areas of the survey. You could use this to assist with reflection and/or setting goals.
- Here is the Longitudinal Tripod Divisional Overview which has divisional averages from all years we have given the Tripod. Sometimes this is data that teachers find useful in their reflection.
