Duties for S2: I need to work out the S2 duty schedule. It was built based on the original prep periods – we have tried to have duties adjacent to those free blocks. As I get set to rebuild it, I want to ask if we would rather move to a single week schedule regardless of whether the duty is adjacent to a prep. Please complete these quick 1 question survey: S2 Duty Schedule
Grade and Comment Dates: This information has been on the sidebar all of quarter 2, but I should have also added it to the main blog. Here are the grading/comments dates for Q2/S1. As you can see the deadlines are tight – we have pressed the official deadlines back as far as possible rather than set them arbitrarily early. For this reason, there is no leeway. All of this (except for the verification) can be done as early as you like.
- Dec. 14: Comments completed and peer reviewed (in S1 bin) and grades completed by 3:00; verification reports will be printed at 3:00
- Dec. 15: Verification reports reviewed, signed (can be digital), and returned to office by 12:15
- Dec. 15: Reports emailed to parents at 3:00
Feedback on Child Safety Guidelines: Counselors are hoping they can get feedback on the Child Safety Guidelines. So far they have only received 4 responses. Please help them out by completing the Child Safety Guidelines Survey
New Icons in PowerSchool: In order to include more information about students, there are now a few more icons that may show up by student names in PowerSchool. These now include:
S2 Day Rotation: The HS has created a fix for their SL/HL IB hours issue. This requires us to swap the rotation on Day 10 to FGHE. This will start in S2.
Tripod Survey Results: Results from the Tripod Surveys may be shared before break (we are still waiting to receive the reports from the company). Some faculty members might want to look at the results over break; and others might want to look at them when they return. There are a few things that will be useful to you for when you decide to review your feedback. Tripod Reflection Protocol: This is created by Tripod and will be especially helpful for those who have never done a Tripod survey before. The information is valuable and there is a reflection worksheet you could use. Here is a shorter reflection form that we used last year (you’ll need to make a copy). If you want to use this one, I recommend using it in conjunction with the information in the Tripod Reflection Protocol. Here is the 2016 Divisional Overview. I will put up the 2017 divisional overview as soon as possible as well. Regardless of when or how you want to review your feedback, I’d like to schedule a 15-20 minute meeting with each of you to talk about your analysis and reflection on the data. I am hoping to conduct all of those meetings in January.
Project X T-shirts: To build a sense of whole school community and excitement for Project X, all faculty and staff will get a Project X t-shirt. This shows the t-shirt design and the sizing chart. Please self-measure one of your t-shirts (that you feel comfortable when wearing) and compare with the chart below to identify the shirt size that you would like to have. Note that there are different sizes for men & women.
