Winter Break and First Week S2, Jan 8-12
|It’s going to be such a great Friday! Gingerbread House Building … Sports Day … Try Not to Sing! And then 3 weeks of what ever you fill it with. Winter break is a great time to refresh and recharge. And you all so deserve it. Thank you for a great first semester. There are so many fun, exciting, and incredible experiences to look back on. I hope you get a chance to reflect on your great work while you are chilling on the beach, swishing down the slopes, or just staring at some beautiful scenery. Take time to congratulate yourself on a job well done!
When we return, we have a day to set up and get ready. Then we are back at it with students. I’ve included a basic list of the first week back … but I’ll be honest 🙂 I’ve got 15 minutes before I need to be down in the Black Box for Drama. So this is a quick version. I’ll add to it and make sure it’s complete over break. So if I miss something now, I’m sure I’ll catch it later.
Friday, Dec. 15

Please assist with active supervision. I also need referees for the Try Not to Sing Challenge. Please let me know if you are willing to help (or be ready when I go recruiting). Competing for the faculty are Natalie Beals, Priscila Schocket, and Eric Schoonard.

Tripod Survey Results (New information in Red): Results from the Tripod Surveys may be shared before break (we are still waiting to receive the reports from the company). Some faculty members might want to look at the results over break; and others might want to look at them when they return. There are a few things that will be useful to you for when you decide to review your feedback. Tripod Reflection Protocol: This is created by Tripod and will be especially helpful for those who have never done a Tripod survey before. The information is valuable, and there is a reflection worksheet you could use. Here is a shorter reflection form that we used last year (you’ll need to make a copy). If you want to use this one, I recommend using it in conjunction with the information in the Tripod Reflection Protocol. There is also a Teacher Tool Kit created by Tripod. This kit goes into depth into the different areas of the survey. You could use this to assist with reflection and/or setting goals. Here is the Longitudinal Tripod Divisional Overview which has divisional averages for 2017 and 2016. Regardless of when or how you want to review your feedback, I’d like to schedule a 15-20 minute meeting with each of you to talk about your analysis and reflection on the data. I am hoping to conduct all of those meetings in January.
