Week Ahead: June 4-8

Wow … I don’t even know what to write about this week.  Congratulations on a week full of amazingness – a drama production, a talent show, and a music concert; a final trip to ALLS to give the students a carnival; a rev’d up Pep Rally; and all the things going on in classrooms to wrap up the year.  What’s been even more amazing is that through all the busy-ness, the activities, the energy, you haven’t lost sight of the humans in our care.  You are paying attention to how students are feeling, coping, and managing.  Thank you for taking such good care of our people.

8:25-8:50 Block H (at the end of H block, take them to the auditorium for promotion) (25 min)

    • 8:45-9:20 G7 in Dragon’s Den
  • 9:30 – 10:30 MS End of Year Assembly (Auditorium)
  • 11:05-11:55 Final HL Activity / Yearbook Signing
  • 11:55 – 12:15 Advisory: Report Card Distribution
  • 12:15-3 Lunch, Divisional Farewell to Faculty (exact time TBD, possibly 1:30-2), Work Time

Friday, June 8
8-11:00 Work Time
11-12:30 Final All School Mtg, Auditorium
12:30-2 School provided lunch in Plaza (departure time for the day is anytime after 12:30 so long as you are checked out)

Upcoming (on the radar)

  • July 16-17 Official New Faculty Arrival Days (but some are arriving a bit earlier and a bit later); Molly’s first day back July 16

Splash Day:  There is a change in format for Splash Day.  This year we have tried to incorporate more choice for the students.  So rather than rotate the entire time in advisory with the same time spent at each station, we are using the following format:

1-1:15 Meet in Gym, review format
1:15-1:35ish HL Competition (different stations)
1:35ish-1:45ish  All MS Water Balloon Fight
1:45ish-2:45 Free Choice
2:45-3 Wrap up and clean up

During the Free Choice time, we will have teachers and parent volunteers at each station to support and supervise.  This schedule will be completed and distributed on Monday along with station descriptions.  Huge thanks to Rick Freil for his leadership on this.

Final Week Schedule:  Please check out the Final Week Schedule. Updates have been made to include set schedule for June 6 as well as when locker clean out and lock collection is happening.

Student and Teacher Check Out:  Students have received the email from Hang detailing what they need to do to check out.  Advisors are responsible for shepherding (aka nagging) students through this process.  This is the student check out document:  Check Out Document  You also received an email from Hang regarding locker clean out and lock collection.  We thank you in advance for assisting with this.

I’ll be sending out the teacher check out information ASAP.

Master Schedule:  Fixed both problems 🙂 will have a new draft for review … maybe tomorrow … but maybe Monday depending upon how Friday goes.
