Week Ahead: July 29-Aug. 2

Welcome back!  It’s been a long time …and a blink of an eye … since we all departed for summer holiday.  For me, this summer was all about reconnecting with friends and family.  It was a summer of noticing big and small differences in people and places.  It was a summer of being invited in to share and reconnect, feeling the warmth of humanity.  As we gear up for the start of what is going to be another amazing year, let’s take time to share and connect.  The strength of SSIS and our division is the relationships we build with each other, with our students and with our families. Let’s take time to notice and celebrate the big and small differences that we will be making together, to celebrate those.  Because it’s a long time to June … and yet, just a blink of an eye.  Let’s enjoy the journey!

Student Orientation and Transition Program, Aug. 8-23:  We will be using advisory schedule from Aug. 8-23 to continue with the orientation and transition program we put into place last year.  The incredible work of the team from last year will be built upon as we go through the in-service divisional sessions.  Here are links to last year’s program:

New Faculty– I am super excited for you to meet our new faculty that are joining our community. Here are their bios again for you.  I’m working on getting all the photos.  They should be up soon 🙂

Sunshine Committee Dues– The Sunshine committee organizes a number of great events and celebrates and supports those staff members in need over the course of the year.   In addition to monthly birthday celebrations and organization of departmental breakfasts, Sunshine shows random acts of kindness, flowers and other items to celebrate milestone events in our lives.  Sunshine will organize a whole staff event each quarter.    We will be asking for a 500,000 VND contribution to be paid in the first weeks of school.  If you are interested in serving on the Sunshine Committee, bringing joy and excitement to our division, be sure to sign up!
