Week Ahead: Feb. 17-21

This week is all about stamina.  Finding it for ourselves; helping our students find it. Success in this new environment – successful learning – will come with careful decision making, collaboration, and determination to prioritize and focus.  This week our priority will be on tutorial, formative assessments, and helping students catch up, take a breath, and develop that stamina.  We will also be focusing on social and emotional supports.  Our students are going to be very down about not being able to return to school.  We will continue to do the check point survey and do 1:1 check ins with students this week.

The Leadership Team will be meeting at 8:30 to talk about the schedule for the week.  Please anticipate that we will be doing something different for a few days this week.  We will be discussing options and making that decision at the 8:30 meeting.

I have asked students to all join the 9:35 Google Meet so that we can share information with them.  This means that I need to meet with all teachers who teach B block to go over what should be shared with them.  We will do this at 9:15 in the library.  I will have talking points printed out for all of you.

Reminder of Agreements:  There are several things we have put into place in order to ensure that Virtual School runs as smoothly as possible for our students.  Here is a reminder of those agreements:

  • Strictly follow the Virtual School classroom page format
  • Strictly follow the procedures for posting lessons
  • Enter “collected” and “missing” flags for collected assignments by 9am the day after the 9pm due date
  • Refer to MS Version of Virtual School guidelines for teachers for the remainder of the agreements and guidelines currently in place
