Week Ahead: Mar. 8-12
|So many good things happening … a band concert, PE Dance Celebrations, SLCs … what a great end to 3rd Quarter. This week as a I looked out my window, I noticed this cloud. Just shining there in the middle of a fairly grey sky. Events like this are shining moments that can really brighten things up and put a smile on our faces. PE Dance Celebrations: G7 and G8 students are prepping for their Dance Celebrations. We will be having a live audience for each! The performances will happen during ADV/Dragon Time on March 15 and 16. March 15 will be all of G7 and a few G8 groups; March 16 will be the remaining G8 groups. At this point, we don’t know if we will be able to have more than 120 at each (we will be checking with Lisa Chute closer to the date for the final determination) or if we will be able to have all students attend both. To prep for both possibilities, we will have Plan A (everyone can attend – my hope springs eternal) and Plan B (half will attend 1 day and half the other). We will be making some adjustments to lunch assignments on that Monday and Tuesday to accommodate groups getting ready during DEAR and recess. Details on this will come from Roxanne next week. Just as a note: We had hoped to have parent performances, but at this time those aren’t able to be approved.
From Daniel: Technology vs. Evolution – Tipping PointWhile technology has promised us the ability to do as much as possible in the shortest timeframe, our brain is actually not designed to have so many quick (often unfinished) encounters with virtual people, information and tasks.
Unit Documentation From Clayton: In an effort to facilitate the remaining documentation, Clayton will send calendar invites to everyone with unlinked units on the Vertical Articulation of Units – Subject Google Sheet. If you would like to request a meeting on a particular day, please send an email to Trinh Lu (tlu@ssis.edu.vn) by 2 PM Wednesday, March 3rd. Otherwise, meetings will be scheduled during individuals’ planning blocks.
Unit Documentation Targets Timeline
- March 19 At least 25% of units documented and linked
- April 16 At least 50% of units documented and linked
- May 19 All units are documented and linked
