Evacuation Drill Thursday:  This week’s evacuation drill has two goals: 1 – sound check; 2 – improve on our performance in evacuation. Please prep students well for this evacuation drill. Additional alarms have been added around campus. We will be ensuring we have all areas monitored so that we can check sound. You will be asked to report the sound level in your area. For the actual evacuation, we need to improve in these areas:

  • silence in the evacuation
  • single file line all through the entire exit
  • location on the field (we need to be back farther – in line with the stairway up to the gym

Advisory Day Shift: Based on feedback from teachers and StuCo, the leadership team voted to shift Monday’s advisory lesson to Tuesdays. Beginning the week of April 5th, advisory days will be Tuesday/Thursday. Dragon Days will shift to Monday/Wednesday. Fridays will remain available for assemblies, house leagues, other. If there is no assembly, house league, or other school event, teams may choose the best way to use this time with their students.

IT Tech in Bldg A: Starting next week, we will have a technician in room A308 from 7:45 to 8:45 and 11:45 to 12:45 to be able to help support computer issues in the ES and MS area. Please send students to A308; and check in yourself as needed.

CTP:  G6 and 7 will take the CTP on April 14, 15, 20, and 22. The testing sessions will be 1 hr 50 min. and we will be running a special schedule (still working on this – but blocks will be 55-60 minutes long). In preparation for the test there are a few things that we need to do before the tests. Please keep in mind that it has been 2 years since our students have taken a standardized test.

  • April 5 – Installation of CTP browser during Dragon Time
  • April 7 – CTP Demonstration Test / Test Prep
  • April 14, 15, 20, 22 – CTP Testing for G6 and 7

We are also need to assist our students in practicing taking multiple choice tests. I am looking for teachers to include some multiple choice question tutorials. Perhaps just 1 question each day as an opener – and talk about a strategy when taking this type of test. Please let me know if you are willing to assist in this way.

Upcoming Student Events Chaperones: We still need chaperones for a few different activities this year. Please review the Chaperone document and sign up to support an event. We have removed events that did not happen – if you signed up for one of those events, you will need to select a new event. Please do this by Friday, March 19. After Friday, we will  fill the open spaces with the names of anyone who has yet to sign up. Some assignments are much shorter than others. If needed, we will ask those who signed up for a shorter event to assist again in another area (or for part of another area).
