Closing out the school year: All teachers need to complete the check out process. Thao will be emailing the check out document to the faculty which indicates that tasks needs to be completed. In preparation for that, please note that to prep your room for summer, the following needs to be done. Given the current situation, you can complete this by June 15 yourself, or I can have it done for you:

  • remove personal valuables
  • ensure all moveable flat surfaces are cleared off (allows for cleaners to move furniture to clean the room)
  • please remember that there will be a lot of construction in the MS this summer; all valuable school items should be secured, if you need assistance with this, please check with me

Rooms for next year:  With the final schedule pretty much set, we can now work on rooms for next year. There will be a few adjustments next year to accommodate room sharing that will be needed due to growth. We will also be giving a room back to G5 to support the move from 4 to 5 sections. The 3rd floor will now become the math/science hub (with art, LS, and EAL mixed in). Social studies will be on the 4th floor along with Modern World Language and a few other.

Colleagues Traveling Early:  Some colleagues are traveling early. Thank you to those covering advisories in their transit times. In order to make sure we all know who is where: Ryan B departed Weds; John, Claire, Jacob, Kelley and Rob will depart this weekend.

Supporting our students: The following is a portion of the email that includes videos and a reflection activity were sent out to each student who used the Class Google Groups to send out the Padlet.  I [Daniel] wanted to make them available to you in case a student asks you about the email I sent.
It is crucial you understand that your email with your Yearbook padlet link to the class of 2027 email group is a form of SPAM email.  To better understand this concept, I would like you to please watch this video that helps you understand SPAM further:
https://youtu.be/DmC7cVCqAxs
SSIS class email groups are designed for school-sanctioned information that all students need to receive. They help inform you and your classmates and various faculty and staff members around the school that need to know this important information.  Your Class of 2027 email went to our head of school, Dr. Catriona Moran.
Protecting your digital footprint is very important.  Please watch this video to understand what other teens say about protecting their digital footprint.
