What a week last week!  So much wonderful for kids … WWW parent’s meeting, an author visit, dance of all dances, and a MathCounts competition that set a new bar for AWESOME!  Throw in PD and an EARCOS Weekend Workshop … and we are all ready for Tet break to get here.

Food Committee
From Barbara Reynolds:  I have recently been appointed the designated administor to chair the Food Committee this school year. This committee consists of teacher representatives from every division. In the elementary division, there are two Elementary teacher reps, one from the lower elementary and upper elementary, one teacher rep from MS, and one rep from HS, parents, PTA, the CEO of food service, Ms. Ha, the smoothie cart lady.

At this point, there are the following vacancies that need to be filled:
a teacher rep from lower elementary, one teacher rep from middle school and one teacher rep from high school. Please email me if you are interested in serving on this committee.
The focus of this committee has been reviewing the SSIS Food Guidelines and reveiwing our cafeteria, and on campus food offerings to encourage and support healthy eating for our students and the school community.  This committee meets every two months in the Fishbowl. The first meeting will be onTuesday March 3, 2015 from 3:15-4:15pm.   Pls. let me know if you’re interested in serving on this committee.

From Amy Flynn – 3 Timely Tips:  Revisiting Routines, and a great Vocabulary Instructional Strategy.  Amy says “Another great resource with great links with easy options to implement. Saw the links to vocab and routines and thought they would be valuable for all.”
