TRIPOD SURVEYS:

We are giving the Tripod Students surveys this week.

The purpose of these surveys is to provide feedback to teachers on how they might better meet the needs of their learners.  The tripod survey is an opportunity for students to give feedback to their teachers about their impressions of the teaching and learning experience from their perspective.  Once we have the data back, you will be asked to complete a reflection form and have a conversation with administration as a part of that reflection.  I will hold an informational session on Tuesday (before and after school) for those that would like to have an in person review.

Administration:

Two blocks are designated for the Tripod surveys each day. It is essential to give the survey on the correct date/block.

Here is the schedule for the blocks that need to be surveyed. We will not be using 1st block on any of the days:

  • Dec. 5 Blocks 2 and 3 (G and H)
  • Dec. 6 Blocks 2 and 3 (D and A)
  • Dec. 7 Blocks 3 and 4 (E and F)
  • Dec. 8 Blocks 3 and 4 (B and C)
  • Dec. 9 Make-up Day

Each teacher will have at least 3 of their blocks take the survey for them.  We will be using the short version of the survey that takes about 15 minutes.

You will receive individual survey tickets for your students each day. Tickets for Monday were placed in your box on Friday afternoon. Tickets for Tuesday will be placed in your box at the end of Monday (and so on).  Here is the list of  MS blocks/courses that will be surveyed.

Please read through the administration guide and script. You must use the script provided.

CLOSING OUT S1:

Semester 1 is going to come to a quick close.  There are lots of events happening for us to keep track of and to support. Though these are posted on the sidebar, here are the grading and comments dates:

  • December 19 – comments completed and peer reviewed (in S1 bin) and grades completed by 3:00; verification reports printed at 3:45
  • December 20 – verification reviewed, signed (can be digital) and returned to office by 3:00
  • December 21 (or 22) – report cards emailed parents

Please note that per MS policy, we do not assign homework during extended breaks like winter break.  This is a time for students and teacher both to recharge.  We will be sharing recommended optional activities as well as resources to parents and students for the 5 week break as it is especially long.

Repeat Post: MASTER OVERSEAS ORDER:

We are starting the overseas ordering process.  This will be led by your IDL.  You will each complete one order form for your department.  There are a few exceptions to this: One is in the Arts department – there is a separate order for each of the different arts (visual arts, drama, and music). Another is in Support Services – there is a separate order for EAL and LS.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • December 16: Review order with department by or prior to this date to ensure it is ready.
  • December 19: Submit final order to Thao and Molly by sending a confirmation email stating order is complete and ready
  • December 20-March 2023: Business office works to consolidate and place orders
  • June – August 2023: Local orders arrive
  • August – September 2023: Overseas orders arrive
