Week Ahead: Nov. 30
|Can you believe we are only 3 weeks away from the end of 1st Semester? Amazing! As we head into the holiday season (which takes us through Tet), let’s keep in mind that not all kids (and adults) are excited about this time of year. There are lots of stressors out there that impact the way people feel about the holidays. Let’s all work to show empathy, kindness and compassion!

Attend to Attendance: A gentle reminder and encouragement to take attendance in the first 10 minutes of class every period. Ms. Sang is running into issue with late attendance (from calling parents to tracking students to reporting).
December Assessment/Project Calendar: Building systems to support high achievement in students is important. One critical step is to ensure that major assessments and projects aren’t piled on top of each other. December represents a crunch time for this as all courses are usually wrapping up for the semester. To assist, we will be using an Assessment Planning document for each grade level to make sure we are aware of their “big picture.” Please add your information to the December Assessment/Project Calendar for each grade. Working together, we can ensure students have the best chance to show us their best work.
- Grade 6 December Assessment/Project Calendar
- Grade 7 December Assessment/Project Calendar
- Grade 8 December Assessment/Project Calendar
Education Surveys: Sorry for the delay in administration. I believe we will be ready to administer the surveys next week. I think we will be posting the survey link on Moodle to create an easy place for students to access the survey in each class. Please wait for a formal email directing you to administer the survey (that will mean they’ve been pre-taught, the link populated, and a “script” prepared to assist each teacher administer the survey in class). Thanks for your patience.
Added 11/27 – Comments and Grades for S1: The end of the semester is coming quickly. For comments, you will be using the S1 grade bucket (except for 6th Grade Exploratory classes who will use Q2). You will receive an email from Ms. Nghi with the following information:
