Week Ahead: Feb. 1

I’m pretty sure this week passed more quickly than any so far … was it just me?  As I look at Friday’s agenda – and the exciting Lock In Fun Extravaganza – I am not so sure that tomorrow will be the same 🙂  In any case …  We are heading into the Tet Holiday.  I found this quote to describe Tet:  In this period of universal renewal, the Vietnamese man feels surging within himself a fountain of youth. That feeling explains many fine customs: in the New Year all action should be pure and beautiful for it may be an omen foretelling events in the twelve months that follow (saigoninfo.com).  Universal renewal … actions that are pure and beautiful … that’s a new year I can get excited about!

Budget for 2016 Calendar/Fiscal Year:  The Leadership Team will be making the final decisions about the 2016 budget on Monday.  Budget allocations and ordering information will be emailed out Monday night.  We are under a tight timeline for orders.  So please be looking for that email.

Tet Assembly: High School StuCo has prepared our Tet Assembly this year.  We are very excited to have this collaborative experience.  You will be taking your D block to the assembly.  We will be sitting on the right side of the gym (as you enter)The schedule for Wednesday is:

Visible Thinking Strategy:  For reflection – what have you posted in your classroom lately that documents the thinking of your students?  Making thinking visible is more than just helping your students think about their thinking.  Actually make it visible to them.  Utilize post its, posters, drawings, work samples, and other artifacts to make their thinking up front and center.
